I would not call those colors “red.” Terracotta or brick or something along those lines. It definitely calls for a lot of woodwork.
Aren’t they gorgeous floors?
Yes, they are. But they are not really red. As long as the rest of the house is in line with the FLW scheme, go for it. IMO, these floors call for large, floor to ceiling, wood wrapped windows. A whole wall of them. And natural wood abundance. And in-floor heating is a must unless you are building this somewhere where heat is not needed.
That’s how you see it but I am guessing it could work differently. I do not like the wide stiles of an Al clad wood windows.
I like those pics, but that’s not what I was expecting at all.
I want those houses… By the ocean would be nice ?️?

They don’t have to be wide. Ours definitely aren’t.
@Iglooo I think that would be fine! And with the rugs you’ve mentioned, it will be lovely!
When OP said “red floor,” I was picturing something like this:

Uhhm. In my world, that would be a big NO. But the floors actually considered by OP are fine.
The red examples in FLW are combined with yellow (wood) and orange (furniture). Staying next to each other on the color wheel. (One approach).
OTOH, the bright red floors could work if contrasted with black, white, or same intensity colors. That would be modern.
Not sure OP said what style home she has. I would try to get a throw or rug or material of the same color you are looking at and lay it on the floor if you can. Then picture it.
My wood won’t be yellow. I won’t have varnish. It will be left natural to gray and tannish. It won’t be bright red. That would be overly stimulating. I am hoping red works even if I don’t follow FLW color scheme, yellow sleek wood, wood framed windows. I am having thin stile metal windows and rough textured wood. Lots of glass may point to modern but I would like to avoid sleek. That may turn out to be mumbo jumbo and a total failure. I am hoping there’s a way to not fit into a defined style and still come out ok.
@JustaMom Thanks for the link. I’ve been playing with it a bit. It is a bit annoying it doesn’t let you change floor colors. I think red on the wall is quite different from red on the floor.
@Iglooo - I just uploaded a photo (literally just now) of my kitchen, making sure to include the floor…and was able to “define area” of just the floor, and “paint” it.
