I had to shuffle several times before I saw anything and NEVER saw purple.

All these complaints about purple have me wondering if this is another case of some people getting different puzzles (or different color coding?) For me, purple was the first one that jumped out (well, there were 5 possibilities, but it was pretty easy to find another group for one of them), and yellow was my “never would have gotten that” category. For me - purple was Primates, and yellow was Chutney Varieties.

That’s wild. I refreshed my browser and then got the puzzle I did a couple days ago. (Now I see what everyone means about purple.) They were both labeled #164.

Don’t know how reliable it is but I found an archive site ( Connections – Archive ) that matches up with what I originally got - weird purple as #162 and easier purple as #164.

I’ve been wondering if there were two difference games yesterday. I saw that some had lots of problems with green and blue, but I felt that one was pretty straightforward in the game I had.

I only got the purple by default. I had an inkling that most of them went together but didn’t figure out why. But I did think it was fun when I saw the category.

I solved in reverse order. I found green to be the most challenging category.

Got them all quickly but only knew the broad connection with blue, not that sub-connection. Green was just what was left. I recognized two of the purple immediately because of my life so other two were easy to figure.
