Conservatory Majors: Please help?

Are you talking about switching your major from piano to another instrument entirely? I would imagine that would involve not only permission from the teacher but another audition and permission from the dean. You should speak with the folks in the conservatory office if that is what you want to do.

If you want to study piano and another instrument, lots of Con students take secondary lessons (2 credits per semester, half hour weekly lessons) on a second instrument with a faculty member by auditioning for them at the beginning of the semester. The challenge there is finding enough hours in the day to practice both.

Are you definitely attending Oberlin. If so we will add your name to the http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/853853-master-list-final-decisions-fall-2010-a-7.html#post1064750727 and if there are any other music school acceptances you would like to mention, we can add them to the http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/817953-master-list-acceptances-fall-2010-a-67.html
