Considering a math-based minor to improve graduate school applications

I imagine taking a more advanced statistics or biostatistics class+a calc for biology class and getting A/B in them would be helpful to get into a funded PhD, as a credential of sorts, especially since you failed Math the first time around – although your research is definitely going to matter more.
Familiarity with statistics and programs used in biology research is usually seen as very positive, so I don’t see how it could hurt (unless you fail again, but it sounds like you’ve made much progress in this subject).
