Consolidated book suggestions for AP

So I bought 5 Steps to a 5 for Psych today, and I am wondering if I should also get Barrons? Is it really worth it or will I be good with 5…5?

bumpadabumpa

In answer to one of your questions: REA= Research and Education Association (or something like that)

5 Steps to a 5 is good enough for Psych… no need to get Barrons

Ah, thank you for this thread!! =] I will buy books soon.

I know this is a thread for book suggestions, but I believe:

MIT Free Course Materials: [Free Online MIT Course Materials for High School | MIT OpenCourseWare](http://ocw.mit.edu/OcwWeb/hs/home/home/index.htm)

and the UCCP Open courses will help people, who are studying for AP tests.

I don’t know if this’ll help anyone, but I got all my practice books for $5

Go to buy.com and use google checkout on any of the barron’s, princeton review, ect…

let me know what you guys think

5s for Me
REA for AP US History
Barron’s for AP Chemistry

Remember that everyone has a different approach to retaining information, but it is imperative that you study as early as possible. I started studying for APUSH before Spring Break! :)

I’ve only taken one AP test so far, but I used Barron’s for AP World…

I tried REA, but it just got too boring for me…I think that just might be me, though…

what would be the best book for these subjects
psychology (self studyin)
calc bc (self studying but takin ab calc now)
united states govt (self studyin but taking comp govt now)

HOW IS AMSCO FOR AP CALCULUS???

my teacher recommended it, but I haven’t seen anyone mention it here…

The new Barron’s Art History book is amazing!! my teacher wrote it, and my entire class (30 people!) at least knew they had been taught everything on last years exam (even if they didn’t remember it, lol).

and last years test was the hardest one in years!

So i’m self studying for AP English Lit, because my highschool doesn’t have AP classes, which is the best book? I’ve heard that Barrons and PR has been favored, but are they good for self studying?

I’m trying to save money, and at the used bookstore, there’s a good dozen or so 2006 and 2007 AP book. Is it ‘okay’ if I buy an older edition of the AP prep book versus the more expensive new one?

hey i was just wondering if someone could help me out with my specific situation. I have not yet begun to prepare for the aps and i would like to start preparing right now. however, i am not confident in what i have learned in class this year or how well i have been paying attention. could someone please recommend review guides for my 5 aps that i will be able to complete all 5 of them by May as if i was doing independent study-meaning i can just use the study guide to fully prepare. please answer, i would really appreciate any help because i really need it.
