On the way home from the gym today, I stopped at an Indian grocery. They carry maybe 40 kinds of masala, some for specific recipes, all in little boxes for a few dollars each. Chaat Masala is very similar to Chana Masala, so I bought some.

I never buy premade masalas. I use garam masala, but I make it myself. I do use some mixes from the book 600 Curries, but again, I make them.

I admit to being pretty hard core. I own a coffee grinder dedicated to spices and make my own chili powder and the like, in addition to the Indian stuff.
