Core Curriculum

Does Duke have a core curriculum? I couldn’t find info pertaining to this anywhere. If so, is it as rigorous such as Colombia or does it possess looser requirements?

Yes, there is a core curriculum. To find it on the website search “T-reqs” and you will see something called modes of inquiry and areas of knowledge: [Curriculum Overview](http://t-reqs.trinity.duke.edu/curriculum/overview.html) .

If you click on each of those you will find a set of requirements. They may seem rigorous but they aren’t that hard to fulfill because many classes are crosslisted and have more than one designation (I.e. a natural science (NS) could also be a quantitative studies (QS).

Also, through the Focus program you can satisfy a good bit of T-Reqs your freshman year, with great seminar and prof experience at the same time. Or at least that’s what i’ve heard.
