Cornell 2015 Fall Transfer Thread

This might be helpful to all your Engineering applicants and specifically ECE transfers.

I have talked several times with the Admissions Director of the CoE as for one reason or another I ended up with her personal e-mail. She told me that due to the large number of applications they are taking longer than expected and that they were expected to have all decisions for engineering (or ECE, I’m not entirely sure) mid-next week MAX.
Hope this helps alleviate someone’s curiosity.

Does anyone know of any cases in which someone with an updated CALS transeval (Name and Major) did not get admitted? Or is the transeval more or less a guaranteed acceptance?

@villuhfc As far as I know, its a guaranteed acceptance

@villuhfc have you been able to get your pin yet? I’ve still had no luck…

No. However, it seems as if, in the past at least, people have transevals updated on Thursdayish, have updated pins on Mondays, and get acceptances on Tuesdays. @Collegeyadayada

Where do you guys see your transevals? Is it under application status?

@bargzeroni717 how did your academic adviser speak on your personal life? I can’t see how mine would be familiar with my situation at all.

@jdarnielle The transeval can be checked here: https://transeval.cals.cornell.edu/

Should engineers expect to hear back this Tuesday?

@villuhfc Glad to hear. That seems fairly logical. However, I’m really nervous even though we’ve basically been accepted already haha

@Collegeyadayada Yea I’m not telling family/friends I got accepted with fears that I won’t for some reason. Don’t want to jinx it or anything haha.

I got an acceptance letter in the mail today (dated May 8th) for the College of Human Ecology. I was completely surprised, because when I checked this morning, it said my PIN could not be found. An amazing surprise, and just goes to show you how spontaneous this process can be

For any transfers that will be here for Fall 2015, we have a Facebook group! Message me to get added

Are junior transfers this year considered class of 2017?

I think it’ll depend on how many credits successfully transfer over.

@uuuuuuu Hey! I was also accepted by Sam Fox and am still waiting for Cornell. What’s your intended major?

Hearing tomorrow at 10am

Still nothing from CAS…

@ShunnedTransfer My advisor was very friendly and helpful even though I am at a huge university. So I would regularly message her when I needed to ask about classes, course loads, registrations, etc. Because she didnt know that much about my personal life, she asked me to send her a resume as well as answer some of her questions. Based on that, she was able to write about my personality and extracurriculars as well as my performance academically and the rigor of my courses.

When does the applyyourself site usually release pin codes?
