Cornell ED Class of 2022 Discussion Thread

it can take several days for the idoc to process after you scan and upload all your information

If the IDOC documents aren’t processed tonight, what happens? My to-do list doesn’t even have initiated (just says nothing to do), and I have to upload one more IDOC form however I’m scared they won’t be in on time now because they’re taking so long to process what I already uploaded. I did my fafsa in October, but my IDOC and CSS we submitted last night and need to upload one more form.

I think that’s a question for Cornell Financial aid group… you might have to explain any extenuating circumstances of why it wasn’t done earlier… or maybe they won’t care… so it’s probably worth contacting them.

What’s the Idoc? and where does it state we have to turn it in? Ive only turned in my css and my fafsa

My cornell to do list is completely empty

@shark62 the idoc is listed on the instructions for applying for aid on Cornell’s website. It’s a secure service for uploading financial documents like W2’s and tax returns

@grotonMAdad for IDOC are we supposed to receive an email regarding it from collegeboard? I used my collegeboard financial ID with my birthday to login but it did not allow me access to the page.

@shark62 Me too! I turned in my FAFSA and my cornell financial aid todo page has been blank so I thought it was set…

When we filled out the CSS profile and had Cornell as our school, at the very end it did say something about idoc… and there’s detailed steps and video tutorials here https://finaid.cornell.edu/apply-aid/prospective-applicants We did get an email to the student’s email address from College board with idoc instructions… so you may want to double check for that

Has anyone’s Financial aid to do list updated yet? I’m pretty sure it was supposed to update yesterday, but mine all say ā€œinitiatedā€ still

@Benedictiral mine only has initiated as well… I’m unsure if that is a sign I haven’t gotten in lol

@irandolph even though there’s rumors about whether or not it foreshadows your acceptance, I guess we can just wait for a week or so and see if anything changes :’)

Applied ED to the Hotel School. I filled out a request for an interview and within the week received an email saying it was approved. However, as it said in the email, I did not get a follow up from an alumni to schedule a time for the interview. Anyone else having this problem?

I spoke with Fin Aid…it still says ā€œinitiatedā€ because the info hasn’t transferred over to them yet. They told me not until next week and you will get an email if anything is missing once they review it. Hope that helps you! Good luck

Applied for ED and just received email from Cornell. Starts with " I am delighted that you applied for admission to Cornell…" Ends with ā€œWe look forward to getting to know you betterā€¦ā€ Not sure how to interpret it. Any others get this email?

@Nighthawk74 that sounds great! What is your intended major and your stats?

@Nighthawk74 from history those get sent to legacy applicants I believe. Are you a legacy?

DS got the same email. He is a legacy and it was curious…we weren’t sure how to interpret the letter or read between the lines? Was it setting him up for upcoming news of a deferral from ED to RD? I think the whole process has made us paranoid, lol!

Just emailed the financial aid team. they say its fine to turn in documents into the idoc late, and that it won’t have any affect on your aid. however, turning them late will also cause your financial package to arrive later than your decision if accepted.

Also my financial aid to do list shows up as ā€œNo current to do item information found.ā€ Does anyone know how to fix this? I emailed the financial team but they gave a vague response saying I had to apply for financial aid but I already have by sending the fafsa and css?
