@lia3247 hopefully you won’t even need my advice! When I was deferred it absolutely crushed me, so much so that the deferral hurt more than the rejection I was sure would come in the spring, by which time I had come to accept that I would not get in. Weirdly enough I was accepted. I would recommend that you go to a teacher you currently have and ask them to write an additional recommendation. That’s what I did. I explained to my teacher about my deferral and why I still believed it was the right school for me. Other than absolute luck, I think that additional recommendation from a teacher with whom I had built a solid academic relationship was why I was accepted. Just remember that even if you are deferred, you are worthy. Nothing about how wonderful a student you are has changed.
I just wanna say that a college decision doesn’t decide your fate and you should not be devastated by a simple deference or denial, it only means that Cornell doesn’t think you would succeed there and you would have a better chance succeeding somewhere else. God will always leave a door open for you!
Let us prey that the website doesn’t crash the second the clock turns 7.
