Cornell Fall 2017 Transfer

@bobsmith5101 Did you call? Did they tell you that you would get your results until Tuesday?

@samantha42 I’m so sorry. I hope everything works for you

SAME @samantha42

CALS, no update on transeval or through pin trick

Do people usually get PINs a day before their decisions are available? If so, would the PIN trick only work on Monday?

@calidawg Only on monday for the most part

Any AEM still waiting I’m getting nervous!?

I think Cornell is trying to kill me. It is pretty much the only school that has ever made my eyes get bright and twinkly… I’d faint with happiness if I am accepted. Otherwise, I am fine going somewhere else, but I just want to KNOW so I can plan for the fall! No pun intended.

I have applied to CALS, Biology and Society.

I put so much energy into applying and now… Nothing left to do but wait and wait…

Does anyone know what the transeval is? I searched for it, and the first search result was for CALS (the school I applied to) and had my app ID listed. Not sure if this means anything…

From past threads, it appears that this coming week is an “acceptance week.” Let’s hope we all get our decisions! [-O<

@Nanigoose I believe that transeval is the system that Cornell uses to evaluate and transfer the credits you’ve earned at your current school. I’m pretty sure that everyone has access to the page, so I don’t think it means anything. One indicator of acceptance is if the top of your transeval changes from just “Your Major:” to actually stating what your major is.

@calidawg Okay Thank you! I had never heard of it except through this forum so I wasn’t sure. I can’t click on the link of the link that says “Transfer Credit Evaluation” for some reason

i think cornell likes to trick and play with applicants emotions  whenever I call they’re like “I honestly have no idea how decisions are released” im like ughhh bae come on, i luv u bae but ur killing me

Does anyone know if there is a correlation between when your application was sent to review and when you get a decision? Being a rolling admissions one would assume there would be, but as I was looking through threads it seems that it really varies…

Does anyone have any clue as to what goes on behind the curtain - why some applications are kept longer in review and what it means for the applicant?

Also, does anyone know what is the typical length, if there is one, for an application to be in a review?

Thanks!

@CorTransCHE Based on past threads, it seems as if there is no correlation between the date when an application is sent for review and the date that a decision is made.

Typically, trends from prior years show that the first few weeks of rolling admission for Cornell are mostly rejections, with only a few admits that certainly made the cut, such as military vets, etc. This is my observation from viewing threads that date back to Fall 2013.

Applications have sometimes been kept in review for as long as early June. This may be because Cornell is having a tough time making a decision, or would like to see a student’s final grades before offering a spot.

Based on what has happened in prior years, this coming Tuesday will be the day where the majority of acceptances will be released. From then on, it will be a mix of acceptances, rejections, and waitlists. Luckily, a large number of rejections have already happened in the past few weeks.

Wow, thanks @calidawg !

That was really helpful.

Hopefully, that long awaited email will pop up this Monday with some good news.

@CorTransCHE For CAS, we collected our info and it seemed that some people whose application had gone to review in mid-April had received their decision/pin earlier and were rejected. On the contrary, most whose application went for review in early April still haven’t received a decision/pin. This is just observation/theory based, so I wouldn’t look much into it; I still think it’s really interesting to look at (this a small population). Good luck with everything!

@yassgirl yes, it is interesting to analyze these trends and does provide some comfort in the process that would otherwise seem unpredictable in nature. It’s also pretty cool that it does fall in line with what other people on this thread know/have noticed, so it does carry some credibility beyond mere speculation.

@CorTransCHE I know, it’s pretty interesting! I’m hoping for the best for all of us

Been lurking for awhile but got accepted to the School of Engineering as an ISST major! Got an email on Friday saying that I got accepted and that I should be receiving my official letter in the mail on Tuesday along with FA information and my Cornell ID. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Anyone know if there’s a Facebook page for Cornell Transfers? Thanks!
