@InfoSci I’m sorry to hear that a fellow Information Science applicant was rejected from CALS. Please tell me, what were your stats? I want to reapply to Cornell for Spring Admission.
@umbra505 Congrats! That’s awesome. I’m an int’l student and my family makes around 2-3k a year. (Sounds incredible, I know. It’s partially due to dollar-lira parity, but still, it is too little even w/ our currency. So…) But thanks for the encouragement!
Have accepted CAS applicants, been asked to send course descriptions a week or two before their acceptance?
@Elrothiel They might be need aware for internationals! No idea though, sorry maybe I spoke too soon.
@jhong0811 At least they are starting to get some SHA decisions out. I’m nervous but excited because I know that my time is coming soon. Thanks for the heads up. I’ll stalk my email now, lol.
P.S. When you’re making you’re decision take into account that Cornell has the Statler hotel, which is very established. Maybe you should really think about which school has better opportunities and connections, since it’ll impact the rest of your life.
Best of luck with the decision!!!
@Elrothiel @umbra505 Cornell now has a need-aware application process for international transfer applicants. It started this year with the Fall 2017 admissions cycle
Hey @jhong0811 I’m not trying to persuade you into or out of anything but I’ll tell you the story of a couple people I know: One of them is a girl that was accepted to Yale and to a bunch of other great schools but later decided to decline the offer and attend a small college in Florida because she got scared of being too far away from home. She´s told me a lot of times that she regrets that decision every single day. The other friend got into JHU and declined the offer because he believed he would soon be promoted at his job and would get a really important position at a very young age. He got that promotion but says that he still questions his choice and wonders what his life would be like with a JHU education. What I’m trying to say is that you have the opportunity to attend your dream school and be part of one of the best educational experiences in the world so if you’re going to decline the offer then make sure that what’s keeping you from transferring will be more beneficial to you in the long run so you don’t end up regretting it like my friends!
Who’s excited for Tuesday?! :)>-
@yassgirl I have not.
@calidawg are we thinking almost all CAS applicants will receive their decisions?
@HarlemRenaiss I haven’t either. I was thinking about it, and at this point, there no real indicator anymore of our decision. As CAS applicants, we don’t have an Ian to call us or a transeval to check. I’m just hoping for the best and let’s see what happens Tuesday
Good luck to us all!!!
@marvin11 Based on what I’ve seen in years prior, it seems to be the case
@colucho08 Lucky me!
@colucho08 Thanks! I’ve been leaning towards Cornell more, so thank you for the advise.
@Victors The school that I am at has the Hilton hotel, so the hotel isn’t the only think I am looking at, but thank you. Good luck to you!
Does anyone from CALS get transeval updated?
Do waitlist applicants (AEM), have any chance at all ? I heard that Cornell has had years when they have taken no waitlists at all. Any idea when we will here by ?
CALS applicant. Just checked my transeval. It has updated with my major and my name. I do not have a pin and the pin trick has yet to work. We are all prisoners of time at this point…
@youngfischer Congrats!!
@youngfischer Congratulations!! I think PINs usually activate Monday morning. Good luck!
Thank you @HarlemRenaiss and @yassgirl
Good luck to you.
