As long as you can really justify your reasons for why you want to go into ILR you may have a good shot. Cornell is need blind so they don’t know you need money so if you get in, make sure you’re prepared to pay if you don’t get enough financial aid.
If your essays only talked about “I want to go into ILR because I want a job in front offices in sports teams” or the employment opportunities, I would be really worried as well as because it is easy to maintain a good GPA there. Competition this year is really stiff and a great test score and low GPA may not be enough. First generation may be your best hook to getting in.
