Current Cornell senior if anyone has questions. Best of luck!
waitlisted. surprised that I’m not mad at all.
transfer option CALS lol when Cornell wants to torture you for another year.
Rejected. As expected.
Congrats to those who got in. Those who are like me right now and feeling down, remember who you are. All of us are still smart and unique in our own ways.
I will make sure to use this experience to motivate me to work harder toward my goals. I hope you all do as well. Best wishes to you all.
@Collegeyadayada do you know what exactly is the transfer option from ILR?
Guaranteed transfer but it doesn’t specify which college. Applied to ILR but it doesn’t say that in the letter?
@maybeDmom does it specifically say guaranteed transfer in your decision letter? I applied to ILR as well and it tells me that I’ll get the specifics about the transfer option in a couple of days, but it doesnt say whether its guaranteed or not.
D Rejected Science and Arts, ACT 35, sat2 - 800 / 800/790(M2.P/C), Toefl - 118, international .Decent ECs
Transfer option (informally called guarantee transfer) means you spend your first year at another institution of you choice (many do Community college) and take the required courses that Cornell needs you to. Then you reapply to Cornell as a transfer student that year and (I can’t speak about this part for sure) as long as you meet the required GPA listed on the transfer option, you should be accepted to Cornell for the following year. I say should because I’ve never heard of anyone being rejected who met the requirements but maybe it happens more often then I’m aware of. This has at least been my understanding of the process unless they changed it this year (I doubt they have) @hanna2000
Waitlisted… For anyone else waitlisted, when you filled out the Wait List Reply form, did it send you an email confirming your waitlist response afterwards? I filled mine out but I’m not sure if it submitted correctly because my internet went down right when I submitted
Accepted! Human Ecology class of 2022!
TO = GT, they just changed the name, since it’s technically not guaranteed. You have to get the GPA requirement and required courses done first before they accept you.
has anyone been able to see a financial aid offer??? I can’t find it anywhere on the cornell selfservice portal or the admitted students website
Rejected from CALS
SAT: 750 Math, 730 Reading/Writing
Unweighted GPA: 97.2
Weigthed GPA: 99.8 (I had a weird situation from moving junior to senior year so my former 100+ GPA didn’t transfer well)
400+ community service hours, much of which was leadership skills, copious self-led art & bio projects, strong, focused ECs, strong letters of rec.
I definitely think it was my supplemental essays… But no use dwelling on it. It is what it is, and I’ll as well as anyone else who was accepted/rejected/waitlisted will end up where we are meant to be.
Lots of love
@Collegeyadayada okay, thank you!!!
anyone else waitlisted at SHA?
Accepted to CALS (Bio Major)
