How does a kid with a 1580, 800s on both subject tests, 5s on APs, student council president, Hoby and Boys State attendee, good volunteer work, 4 year varsity basketball player and team captain, scoring runner for cross country team that placed 4th in the state two years in a row not even get waitlisted at Cornell?!?!?!
ACCEPTED!!! SAT:1370 ACT: 31 GPA: 3.6 ahaha whatt??? Im in shock.
@NotPeeCee competition is tough, man. That’s just proof that these universities have to turn away great students every year
Transfer option to college of Human Ecology.
@NotPeeCee It’s not always the stats that get you somewhere at such high tier schools. Think about the rejection this way: Cornell believes another college deserves to have your child as a student more than they do.
Also got the transfer option to College of Human Ecology!
can any of you access financial aid?? i cant find it anywhere!! has it even come out?
@az103 I can’t find it either. I don’t think it’s gonna come out for a while…after all, they have like a gazillion accepted students.
Accepted! Nice after being waitlisted at Georgetown two days ago.
D. was waitlisted but she’d moved on to some other great options already that she’s more excited about so she’ll decline being on the WL. Congrats to those accepted!
@collegeyadayada Would love to talk w you about Cornell. Haven’t visited but planning now that I’m accepted.
Very disappointed. Rejected from my dream school… It’s hard to deal with a rejection from a university that you passed almost your life dreaming about and preparing yourself to apply to. I stayed nights awake writing, studying for it, years of preparation and dedication to get a rejection. But that’s life… with its ups and downs. I won’t lie, I cried, but let’s move on…
For the ones that got in: You guys are incredible! Haha Só happy for you and I’m sure that Cornell will add a lot in your education!! Congrats a lot!!! You really do have to feel special and honored!
For the waitlisted/rejected students: You also have to feel special!!! As I said, sometimes it can be hard, but remember that there were 50000 people applying, and they could just accept few of the thousands geniuses that tried! I just want to tell you that you are worth it and, wherever you are, you can make your own future!!
Did anybody have to fill a monthly expenses sheet for Cornell financial aid
waitlisted
An optimistic thought from my kid, “I feel like I gotta get off of someone’s waitlist!”
Feeling her optimism.
Accepteddddddddddddddddddd to the School of Engineering!
Waitlisted, oh well, time to move on.
Transfer option at CALS. I’m not too upset was expecting a flat out rejection, especially after getting a rejection from NYU. Congrats to everyone and to those who didn’t get in you’ll do great at another institution.
“all around me are familiar faces, worn out places, worn out facessss”, waitlisted, stats better or comparably the same as everyone accepted on here who has said their stats, no hook admittedly. But that’s ok I have some good other options that I am excited for.
My child 35 ACT rejected.
