<p>“Name” colleges or local alumni clubs will sponsor book awards at a few favored high schools. Then the teachers get to spread them out amongst the top juniors. It has NOTHING to do with the college for which it’s named. You have your teachers to thank. It holds as much weight as saying you were on the honor roll.</p>
<p>The only exception might be the RPI medal …</p>
