Hopefully it’s a good sign @winky1
@Winky1 Thank you so much for the kind words. It seems like that your D applied to a lot schools same to mine. It is nice to see students and parents worldwide collaborate and stick together during this dreadful and tedious application season.
@Hephaestion , yes, I knew we were on previous threads together as well. You aren’t kidding that this application season was especially challenging. It was a game-changer type of season. Things seem much different now than they were just 2 cycles ago when my son graduated from high school.
Objectively, I think that Cornell may have consolidated their WL. They dismissed some but not others. However, I have not read anyone receiving anything new from Cornell. Georgetown, for example, released most of their WL about 3 weeks ago. Very few, though, were offered to stay on an extended WL through the month of June. I do not know if Cornell does this or if they do it silently. Maybe that is the case now? Or perhaps they are getting ready to let people know about Guaranteed Transfer offers? Or maybe still nothing until the final email comes?
Thankful for those who have shared tidbits of info., and I hope students continue to post bits of info. when they have something to share.
Based on my conversation with CAS admissions this morning they indicated that it will take proverbial “couple of weeks” before they finalize the wait list decision. She clearly stated they have NOT ended the wait list process. However, to me, it did not sound promising. The admissions and wait list process & dates have certainly changed this year as all can attest!
@ivyhunter why do you think it did not sound promising? If they are taking more weeks does that mean more students will be admitted?
Thank you for your input @Hephaestion
@lenasharb I’m not too sure, but I think it was Monday. Also, I don’t think there were any special hooks, but we go to Stuyvesant High School and Cornell has a history of taking quite a bit of students from our school. That’s all I know!
For those waiting on word about Human Ecology, my D just texted me that she got an email today saying Human Ec is “in the process of wrapping up it’s wait list now and will be in touch shortly.” She had sent them some info. earlier this week to update them. This was the response.
I just received an email telling me I was not offered a position off the waitlist for the Dyson School but I was given the transfer option. Is there any point in pursuing that option?
Just a hunch. Generally, they know their boarding/class room fill rate by now. Also, other institutions such as Wash Univ have officially announced ending of their wait-list process. Hoping I am wrong for those that are keen to get into “Big Red”. Good luck to all where ever you end up. Success beckons!
Hi guys! I just got the transfer option from HUMEC today.
My D got the same Transfer Option offer from Human Ecology!
Same!
any news for cas transfer?
None. I haven’t received any information. My counsellor called them up and she told me that they didn’t give any substantial information. We should be notified in the next two weeks I think. I don’t know if CAS is still giving acceptances off the waitlist, as if they aren’t, they will start the transfer option offers
Any word for you @Jessicala ?
Any chance for CAS still??
I’m guessing probably just transfer options at this point. @grundeis
Oh man. I recently won one of the top grand awards at Intel ISEF (Best of Category), and I was SOO hopeful to get into Cornell CAS! but no, it’s not happening I guess…I don’t even know what else I can do to increase my chances, I just completely gave up on college applications by now
Well one person on CC was offered spring admissions on June 5th so we will see
