Cornell vs. Boston University

Sorry, I am not KK23. I do not actually remember why I said you were a ■■■■■. Maybe it was because you wrote–

"I am more concerned with making sure I get the best education, selection of research opportunities, etc…

honestly, I know Cornell is the “easy” choice. I really just wanted to make sure I wasn’t simply choosing Cornell because, well it’s Cornell, but rather because it really is the better choice."

Do you honestly think Cornell does not fit this bill? And you ask this on a Cornell thread? You have not mentioned one reason why BU might be better, other than financial aid.

Cornell is part of the Ivy. This may not be important to you. It is an internationally and nationally recognized and ranked university. It is a target school for some professions that BU is not.

What do you want to know? If you can not afford Cornell and BU is more affordable, then go to BU. If both are costing you the same, IMO there is no question Cornell is the best choice. That’s obvious.

Given your original post and subsequent entries, there is no reason for anyone to recommend BU other than for financial reasons.

i know one person who took full tuition at BU over Cornell and is having much more trouble with recruiting than Cornell students. She is graduating BU with a 4.0. Most seniors in HS dont really consider recruiting for jobs/grad school etc in their college choice (i definitely didnt). While I am definitely biased, go Cornell. Even if you will have loans to pay off going to Cornell, it will likely be worth it in the long run.

LOL. Really? You’ve got to be kidding me. I’d take my local CC over BU- I mean, have you ever seen their…scattered buildings?

Cornell is gorgeous- both inside and out.

Come on Morismm. Lighten up. Don’t be a prestige whore.

I’ll give you one example. I know a guy who could have gone to any theatre program he wanted. Extremely talented. He went to some no name school in the middle of nowhere. While those at ‘great’ schools clamored for one or two mainstage leads, he was in almost every show they did. He got extraordinary experience, moved to LA and started auditioning with his talent.

For some people, BU might have a specific program or a professor or even an urban lifestyle that makes it the better choice for what they want to get out of college. This is not a ■■■■■ question. You’re making us look bad. :)

A full ride? Pick BU!!! Great school, great resources, great setting.
