Stunned. Condolences to Ms. Michele and his family.

Thanks for explaining that emeraldkity4. It makes a little more sense now. I guess not everyone who starts playing with drugs is doing so to self medicate, but those who are already have a disease.

Thanks for reminding me of this calla. I was trying to figure out how he could have died after just being in rehab. And yes, I’m assuming he died of an overdose.

Here’s a wonderful song, performed by Monteith and Michelle, “We’ve got the Night”. [?Glee? Co-Stars and More React to Cory Monteith?s Shocking Death | Yahoo! TV - Yahoo! TV](<a href=“‘Glee’ Co-Stars and More React to Cory Monteith’s Shocking Death”>‘Glee’ Co-Stars and More React to Cory Monteith’s Shocking Death) Such a loss. (Scroll down and you’ll find the link.)

Listening to a Glee Playlist on Spotify this morning as I work - sad at the loss and talent, but somehow soothing to hear the gift he had to sing and entertain.

They are gearing up to start filming season 5 later this month. It seems a very short period of time to have to do rewrites regarding Cory’s character, Finn. In fact, they are in the middle of auditions right now for some new recurring roles (unrelated to Cory’s passing).

I really can’t imagine how they are going to deal with it in such a short amount of time on so many levels. There were a couple of shows I watched where a starring actor suddenly died, notably John Ritter and John Spencer. They found a way to deal with it, but I think they had a lot more time. I can’t imagine what acting a part around Finn’s death is going to be like for Lea Michele. Or Chris Colfer, or any of the other long term cast.

I find the public barrage of tweets bizarre.

What do you mean about the tweets Consolation? How are they bizarre to you?

Leo McGarry. :(

Consolation, I had not thought of how hard it will be for the cast (particularly Lea Michele) to do this. I know it happens now and again that a cast member of a currently running TV show will pass but hardly ever are the co-stars romantically involved in those cases (that we know of). One would hope that Fox may delay the start of this season and give the cast time to grieve and the writers time to do this properly.

Not sure if it was intentional or not but two castmates have announced their engagement today? Not great timing if it was.

Whose engagement was announced today?

[| It?s a ?Glee? Engagement! See Which Star Just Proposed](It's a 'Glee' Engagement! See Which Star Just Proposed)

That’s the only thing I can find and it’s from 3 weeks ago.

I did see Jane Lynch & her wife are seperated.
And Matthew something is engaged.
But I had to look for that, I stopped watching Glee a couple years ago.
I feels so hurt for Lea Michelle though & for his family & friends.

Darren Criss had his first movie premiere today. What a bittersweet moment.

Blake and the girl who plays Marley recently got engaged, I think. They are very young, maybe 23 and 20.

Regarding the tweets, I read something online that put together the tweets of a whole bunch of people, some cast members, some other celebrities who knew him. It just seems strange to me to be making this public display, although I admit I have never warmed to twitter. Mark Salling apparently just tweeted “no,” and then later removed it. That seemed truly heartfelt. Lea Michele and Chris Colfer didn’t say anything. Mostly people said that he was a sweet guy. It’s just so very, very sad.

Sorry, I was incorrect about the time of the engagement. It kept coming up on my Google as new within the last 24 hours. The one article I clicked on had been dated the 14th.

I did see that list of tweets from celebs re: Cory. Being a twitter user, I actually was touched reading them. When tragedy happens, seeing that others are affected to - even other celebs - can be comforting.

The collection of tweets incase anyone is interested:

This is frustrating. I’m reading that his " friends" in Vancouver aided & abetted his substance abuse. D bags.

Someone on the Glee Facebook page suggested that the first “episode” of Glee be a tribute to Cory - showing scenes, outtakes, personal remembrances. That might be a good idea…take it head on, then it won’t feel as hollow when they write him out.

I’m glad I am not the only middle-aged mom thinking a lot about this and affected by it. It strikes me how truly, genuinely liked he was and how he seemed to be dealing with things head on. What could have happened?
