Could any Bostonians help with a commute recommendation?

My larger concern isn’t during the day, but when she is leaving at 11 pm at night, which she will be doing 3X in her first week.

Oh, that will be a challenge.

Would you use the green line for those nights?

Probably.

If it were me…for those 11 pm times, I think I’d spring for an Uber.

On those three days, maybe uber to/from green line makes sense.

She can drive to and from a station. Is that where you meant she should use an Uber?

An Uber the whole way to Dover?

An Uber from the job point to wherever they can actually catch public transport to wherever their car is left.

Not exactly sure where in fenway - but she should be perfectly safe walking to the green line at 11 pm. There will be lots of medical workers catching the train home from longwood at that time also.

Thanks.

I felt like the green line would be fine. She is only about .3 miles from it and it runs frequently. I feel like I am being a pain/naysayer regarding the commuter line, but I didn’t feel as comfortable about her waiting around for as much as an hour at 11 pm.

My thought was to to consider uber to/from nearest station to “home”, if there is not parking there.

I would take an Uber home at night to the Wellesley station where she parked her car. I wouldn’t want to ride in an empty train.

Will the green lines be empty at that time, too?

Sorry for all the dumb/uninformed questions.

She could drive on the nights she works late, but it seems like that would have its own set of issues.

Sounds like she is driving to riverside, parking there and taking the green line in. She should load the MBTA parking app on her phone in advance, that is the only way to pay for parking in an MBTA lot. She should also buy a Charlie card and load it with funds when she gets to Riverside station - there are fare machines.

The green line will be fine - plenty of people on it all the time. It will actually be crowded on nights that the Red Sox have home games or there are Celtics home games.

If she’ll be staying late on game nights there will be a lot of company heading to and standing at the Fenway stop.

Commuter rail barely runs after rush hour. On the late days, I’d definitely think about driving in. Even if she takes the green line, I don’t think I’d want to be walking through a parking lot that late to get to my car.

Green line runs until after midnight - I think riverside parking lot is fine - others will get off the train with her and go to their cars
