<p>The “You can’t really get a job with a BA” isn’t necessarily true - I got a BA in econ and had a job lined up at graduation with a pay scale pretty similar to that of my friends with BS’s. I was econ, (though I didn’t go into finance; there are other post-econ major options) which probably has more marketable skills than something like hispanic studies. </p>
<p>The job market could change a lot between now and the time the entering freshmen graduate though. In the long run, if your primary goal is guaranteed employment doing something you can tolerate rather than doing something you really enjoy … get an engineering degree.</p>
