Countdown and Results Thread for December 2008 ACT

I called and also heard that ACT uploaded scores randomly. However, that just doesn’t make sense. I’m wondering if it could be based on social security number (those who provide one receive scores first) or the alphabet (maybe they upload in alphabetical order).

anyone know if the wednesday scores reveal tonight? or tomorrow nite?

I’m wondering if self reporting could temporarily count as the score report for the colleges until the December ACT results are available for us. Although I have already have an ACT score to send (34), I am hoping for a 35 or 36, so that I could potentially qualify for more merit-based money at some of the schools I’m applying to.

I’m not sure if/when they’ll reveal any scores tonight. Apparently, scores went out early Monday morning around midnight to those “lucky” few. However, When I took the ACT in September, I think scores came out closer to 5 in the morning. It looks to me like there’s really no telling. Like some others on here, I’m concerned about that fact that my status is still “registered” and that the ACT website does not have any notice for a scheduled maintenance tonight. I think it’s extremely unlikely that those of us who still have a “registered status” will be able to view our scores until at least next Monday. It stinks.

I got my scores. I really don’t know how to feel about them, since I’m so much more comfortable with the SAT and stuff like that. I need to pull out a comparison chart and then deal with the fact that my SAT scores are always much, much higher than my ACT scores, which I think are middling.

did you just get it right now?

Nothing in CT yet. Since my D’s did it pretty “cold”, I’m not expecting much, but maybe it will help motivate or direct them better in the future. Being juniors, I thought it was a good idea to do one early, because my son was surprised how long and tiring the tests can be.

i got mine on dec 29th, the first day -D

And (drum roll, please…) I’m still registered :frowning:
WHY OH WHY, ACT?!

Looks like a lot of people from the NE are still waiting (ie: NY, Ct, NJ). My son just called a friend who took the ACT in the same testing center that my son took his in, and he also does not have scores yet.

i’m still “registered”…and I’m pretty sure I probably won’t see anything until next week…next freakin’ week! ugh…my scores probably won’t make it in time to my colleges, so that’s why i sent my crappy sat scores…

Georgia. got mine yesterdayyy.
