Countdown to 2012 Recognition

The point is that it’s a culmination of everything you’ve been going through for the last 9 months. It shows you and your upperclassmen what you’ve become. It’s an important experience to go through, and it’s unfortunate when you can’t. I did what I could, which was theme rooms, riding the sicky van to the rock, and the recognition ceremony on Saturday. This was certainly not ideal, but you take what you can get, and even though I wasn’t able to go through the physical part of recognition, I, along with others in the same boat as me, still understand what it’s all about. Recognition is about finally getting the chance to be recognized for what you’ve done, finally getting a “Good job”. Ideally, the “good job” and pat on the back come after a weekend of showing what you’re fully capable of, but when that can’t happen, proving yourself throughout four degree year has to be enough.
