Counting down the days... What words are you living by?

I know I’m ratty. I guess I just live by many words… gah!

oh, oh, suppose you’ll never know

~psapp, cosy in the rocket

either i really like the fact that it mentions not knowing, or i’ve just been listening to that song too much

Cosy in the Rocket! As on the Grey’s Anatomy soundtrack.

The Beatles - Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da

Desmond has a barrow in the market place.
Molly is a singer in a band.
Desmond says to Molly – girl I like your face
And Molly says this as she takes him by the hand.
Ob-la-di Ob-la-da life goes on bra
Lala how the life goes on
Ob-la-di Ob-la-da life goes on bra
Lala how the life goes on
Desmond takes a trolley to the jewellers’ stores,
Buys a twenty carat golden ring.
Takes it back to Molly waiting at the door
And as he gives it to her she begins to sing
In a couple of years they have built
A home sweet home
With a couple of kids running in the yard
Of Desmond and Molly Jones.
Happy ever after in the market place
Desmond lets the children lend a hand.
Molly stays at home and does her pretty face
And in the evening she still sings it with the band.
Happy ever after in the market place
Molly lets the children lend a hand.
Desmond stays at home and does his pretty face
And in the evening she’s singer with the band.
And if you want some fun – take Ob-la-di Ob-la-da.

Lovely song

Take me for what I am
Who I was meant to be
And if you give a damn
Take me baby, or leave me

;) Well, not entirely – don’t want to come across as rude. But this RENT song was playing when I was in the car today, and it does pretty adequately sum up my attitude toward college admissions at this stage in the game

hehe, zutsuit, isn’t that the lesbian song? I love RENT.

hey guys just visiting from the Princeton forum.
I just had to chime in because (as you can tell from my s/n) I am absolutely in love with the Beatles! and Across the Universe is probably my favorite song in the entire world…it is just so amazing.
And Rent is awesome, too.
For those of you who know Wicked, I have been living by the song “Dancing Through Life” (I am in love with Fiyero! lol).
Anyway, come visit us some time! We’re a friendly bunch! :)

“the lesbian song” hahahahaha. Yes, it’s the lesbian song. I’m a RENThead, too!

btlesgirl – I love Wicked! My license tags say “WCK3D”, only because someone else already had “WICKED”. I sang Loathing with another girl at my school last year for a performing arts club assembly. It was a lot of fun!

I saw Fiyero in dirty rotten scoundrels on broadway… He was really funny!

Never really got the appeal of these musicals…

haha, brune, yes, it’s the “lesbian song.” it’s so hard to explain to people why this is my favorite song, as the first image that pops into their heads (if they even recognize the song/musical ^_^) is two women singing about their love

EliHopeful – interestingly, most people i encounter don’t like musicals. it’s hard to exactly pinpoint the appeal of them; i guess that as a writer, i appreciate the process of storytelling through songs, and of course the costumes/dance sequences are wonderful.

i haven’t had the chance to see wicked, but i may if it comes to san francisco this year. my mom works in advertising and has been able to procure tickets for my sister and me to RENT, a chorus line, and (on sunday) jersey boys.

I know what you mean… I am not “allowed” to like “living in america” 'cause I don’t. ;)

zutsuit stole my song. ;)

I’m a Part of That, L5Y and Brat Pack by the Rocket Summer.

tracy chapman is probably the most comforting thing on my iTunes. i’m planning on playing her before i access the decision in less than a week (!!!) so i’ll be calm, no matter what the outcome.

i got this in a fortune cookie, " don’t let statistics do a number on you." i thought it was very appropriate.

aww most of the tracy chapman songs on my ipod are … depressing, lol. they’re still calming though, i’ll be sure to be playing those too when friday comes around. ahh <3 rent! my bf and i always crack up when the girl goes “oh honeybear, are you still my baby?” or something like that.

Four days
One hour
Hell

i’ve been waiting for this moment
i’ve been waiting for this moment all my life
but its not quite right

and this ‘real’
it’s impossible if possible
at whose blind word
so clear but so unheard

It’s all A Chorus Line for me!

God, I hope I get it, I hope I get it!
How many people does he need? How many people does he need?
God, I hope I get it! I hope I get it!
How may boys, how many girls
How many boys, how many…
Look at all the people, at all the people
How many people does he need? How many boys, how many girls?
How many people does he …
What’s coming next? What’s happening now?
Still it isn’t over
I’ve gotta imagine what he wants it isn’t over
I’ve gotta imagine what he does
God, I hope I get it, I hope I get it!
I’ve come this far, but even so: It could be yes, it could be no.
How many people does he…?
I really need this job
Please, God, I need this job I’ve got to get this show.

PAUL
Who am I anyway? Am I my resume?
That is a picture of a person I don’t know.
What does he want from me?
What should I try to be?
So many faces all around and here we go,
I need this job Oh God, I need this show.
