Most freshmen feel that way at most colleges - especially those who commute from a family home. CPP is a very good school - you probably ought to give it a semester or two before deciding it isn’t for you. Join some clubs, get involved in the campus community and you will grow to love it.
Id also caution that most of the UCs are tougher transfer targets than they are for freshman admits. If you head to a CC now, it is possible you won’t get into the ones you are dreaming of - or even get back into CPP.
