When a cousin was going to a certain college, an aunt got a coffee mug from that school and rolled many $1 bills and put them in the mug.
I am thinking about Christmas this year, and cash may be a substantial part of the gifts. I’ve thought of just getting multiple bills and wrapping them individually in different sized boxes/bags.
One Christmas I have cash, but I put things the kids already owned in boxes so they wouldn’t know it was cash.
Years ago, my mother could not think of any gift ideas for my grandfather (her FIL - she handled all the family gift tasks). It was before gift cards were a thing. So she wrapped a catalog up in a box with a comb and some cash. Note said something like, “comb through these ideas to find something you like” . We all thought it was clever.
I gave a friend’s daughter/friend of my kids $100 cash for her graduation and I folded into origami – 5 different things. There are a lot of tutorials on YouTube. When my cousin’s son got married I did the same thing, but made hearts. The graduate said in the thank you card she sent that it was “the best money ever”.
