T3… I’d disagree with that - 45Mbps would make CMU’s network crawl. CMU is pushes/pulls around 110Mbps over commodity internet at any given time (according to their network stats), with bursts of up to 170Mbps - That means that they’re using way more than an OC3 (155Mbps). They also use up to 455Mbps over Internet2. CMU has a connection to the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center (which they run) that provides bandwidth to CMU, UPitt, and a few other institutions. That network can use up to 1244Mbps of commodity internet, and 2.4Gbps of Internet2.

Busted for using i2Hub, not Internet2. Internet2 is a primarily research based network for connecting universities. i2Hub was a file sharing program that only worked on Internet2 universities. i2Hub doesn’t exist anymore, however the last beta version they released still works if you can find a copy.

yeah I was gunna sat "a single T3 and you think its fast? Theres no way!

anyway, just explaining how to not get caught, in a hypothetical situation, for those who need to know, freedom of speech and information and all that.

Also, I tend to get like 40-80kbps on torrents with about 10 - 20 seeders, and only sharing a max of 1kbps to 1 leecher. I’ve got a 3.5mbps (microwave) connection, so it isn’t too detramental in terms of dl speeds.
