edit: What does this even mean:
“Why no literature from the low countries after the enlightenment where religion meant NOTHING?”

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Since when did this forum become a homosexuality debate?! Guys (and girls): Please stick with the topic at hand. I’m fine with you guys sparring, but could you please take it elsewhere? dcircle, I am not pre-med, but I am thinking of med school. What is the deal with pre-med (I never quite understood it). Do complete your requirements for a science based concentration and then complete a separate set of requirements for the pre-med connotation? Thanks for your help in advance.

P.S. How difficult is the neuro concentration. Don’t get me wrong: it’s not that I don’t want to work hard (I enjoy a challenge), I’m very interested in this major, but I’m afraid I won’t be able to cut it.

hehe, bet you didn’t see your innocent thread about questions about Brown turning into this!

It meant that after a certain point of time (~1525 onward) the low countries were not influenced much by the religion (and none by the Catholic church).

I said there was still no homosexuality in the region at the time. It is a counterexample to people saying the only reason there was no homosexuality throughout Europe before 1700 was religion.

Then I said that if people were truly homosexuals during that time (but being repressed by the Church) why is there no evidence of this inner turmoil in literature, plays, etc from the time.

They said because the church destroyed the writings.

I said why no literature from the low countries.

Lol, nope Rabo, can’t say that I did.
Honestly Maize! Start your own thread! I hate to sound disagreeable, but just let it it go, or go elsewhere.

okay this school is too liberal for me rofl

sigh of relief Woohoo! Now if we may all, as I said previously, stick to the topic at hand, we will all get along marvelously.

The Enlightenment certainly diminished reliance on faith, but it didn’t wipe out faith in the Church anywhere.

i second liquid’s question…do you have to be a workoholic to survive neuro? and is the concentration filled with science geniuses? oh yah, i’ve only taken ap chem, ap physics, no ap bio, and no research experience. is that about par or will i have some catching up to do?

How many people are science-types at Brown? It seems that there are quite a few, based on these boards and the people I met at ADOCH.

i believe they published it in the daily herald, isnt it like 35%

Even any concerns that you guys had as incoming freshmen would be greatly appreciated. Can any of you think of anything that would give us an upperhand, such as things you wouldn’t know until you’re an upperclassman? Sorry if I’m not making myself clear. It makes sense in my head!
