<p>I used Barron’s and I agree with his critique of the book, so I guess his reviews are probably accurate. I don’t know how your curriculum compares to SAT II. If it’s way more advanced than SAT in terms of areas covered, a few months is more than enough. If not, the earlier you start, the better.</p>
<p>EDIT: If you want to find out how tough the exam is, buy one of those books, do a practice test, score it and then analyze your performance. Barron’s has a “diagnostic test” which is basically a regular test but with a grid that makes the analyzing process easier. I wouldn’t recommend Barron’s on that basis alone though, you can easily get the same result with a practice test from one of the other books.</p>
