Gosh, Payingthree, give me a break - I said I couldn’t resist! :). Mostly couldn’t resist the reporter writing the story who thought selling Cutco knives was somehow relevant to the overall story. I thought it was Amway that was supposed to be a cult.

I had a cutco utility knife I bought more than 25 years ago. It was used almost every day as my primary cooking knife–we loved it. When my husband final broke it a few months ago, we were so upset I looked up the model number on the internet and bought a replacement for way too much money on ebay!

Cangel, this is a public apology to you!!! I meant to sound like I was joshing and joking around too. My post was off mark. I’m so sorry.

MomOf3, my husband broke the end off of our paring knife that I use daily. I mailed it back to Cutco and they sent me a new knife!

i got hired

A friend’s daughter sold us a knife and a pair of scissors from Cutco. We bought the stuff because of the friendship. It is over-priced but the quality is o.k. The daughter is doing it again this summer and made $300 the first week and $400 the second. But she is working about 12 hours a day and consuming vast quantities of gas! However, she genuinely loves the job! She is an English major at UVA but sales may be in her future! So I say, more power to her!

I had my Cutco demonstration today. Neighbor boy was cutting the penny in a spiral and I warned him that it might go flying. Guess what? It did and the spiral hit me in the shoulder, about 10" from my eye. He should have left that part out of his demo!

I love my Cutco. I’ve had them over 20 years and they really do keep their edges. I got a Hinkles cheff a few years back as a gift, but it will not hold its edge. Have a Wustof utility that also needs lots of maintenance. Couple months back I bought a Cutco Santoku. It’s now my new favorite … but it doesnt do as good a job on watermellon as my slicer does.
