<p>Do NOT get so hung up on whether you had an invitation to CVW or attended NASS. My son did not attend either NASS or CVW and his is currently preparing to graduate from USNA Class of 2008. He did not have an LOA either. He did visit USNA a couple of times on his own nickel. Bottom line is that he is like most of the Mids that I have met from his class. I also know of several candidates that attended NASS and CVW and ultimately did not get an appointment. This is a very long process and worrying about why you either did or did not get an invite to CVW will make you nuts. If you really want to attend a CVW, make sure that you communicate that to your BGO. Continue to be a strong candidate, explore your other options including NROTC and the other academies too. Stay in communication with your BGO and send any additional awards/achievements to admissions to be added to your file and most importantly…GOOD LUCK!!!</p>
