CWRU Class of 2024 - RD

Daughter admitted RD, 32K University Scholarship, Baker Nord Scholar

Can you all include at least your major, GPA/SAT, and how much scholarship you got?

Our D waitlisted after being deferred at EA for Engineering
wGPA 3.95, uwGPA 3.75, 4 APs, ACT 32 Superscored. Many strong ECs w leadership positions (President Marching Band, FIRST robotics team leader), volunteer work, charity support etc…
D is disappointed to be waitlisted after many acceptances - Purdue, VT, WPI, RIT, Rutgers, U of Delaware, U Mass @ Amherst and UMD.
She has some very good choices with good scholarships so not likely to wait on CWRU to make a decision.
Well done to those accepted and good luck with the final decisions.

My S also wait-listed today after being deferred at EA in Arts & Sciences
w/GPA 4.35, uw/GPA 3.98 (got a B in Phys Ed) at a competitive Catholic HS
National Merit Finalist
10 APs
35 ACT (36, 36, 35, 34)
Marching Band (Squad Leader), Symphonic Band, National Honor Society, Academic Challenge, Model UN, Writing Tutor, St. Joseph of Arimathea Pallbearer, Kairos counselor
Showed good interest - Multiple campus visits plus an admissions interview

He is extremely disappointed, as CWRU is one of his top choices. He has other great options, but he really wanted an offer from Case because it is the best school close to home. I can’t help but feel that being a local candidate has really worked against him based on the anecdotal evidence that I have heard.

Accepted
GPA 3.98 ACT 36
Art and Science - BioChem major
Scholarship $27,500/year x 4
DD is so happy :relaxed: that she got in, especially after Hopkins rejection on Fri.

DD was also informed that she can major in Music if she decided to. No need to audition. I think it was because she sent a concert recording with the application. She may double major. We’ll see.

Accepted
GPA 90+ SAT 1380
Applied for Nursing major

The acceptance letter did not specify whether I got in for nursing. Did anyone else have a letter that specified the major accepted into?
I heard case does not accept into major and allows anyone to pick any major once enrolled, is that true?
Thanks

did your letter specify your major?

So is being wait-listed at CWRU pretty much equivalent to being rejected without officially being rejected?

My son was also waitlisted after being deferred EA. Wondering what the stats are for numbers of students who get in off of the waitlist.

Daughter was admitted for engineering after being deferred on EA. 4.0 unweighted, 34 ACT, 10 APs, lots of arts EC’s and awards including All State dance and gold medal at an international dance competition. $27,500 merit aid. She’ll probably dance wherever she goes. She’s a Banneker/Key Scholar at Maryland, however, and that means Maryland would be very cheap for Mom and Dad.

@DadInTheCLE Is it?

Strengths: sports, extracurriculars
Weaknesses: my stats
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: i think i was accepted bc of my essay and leadership which i only had one that I rly devoted my time into. idk if others got this but at the end of my admission slip idk if the dean or someone wrote a ps and said noted out my essay

I’ve been trying to open my status update but it doesn’t load. It says 500 Unavailable and tells me to try again. Is this the case with anyone else? I’m going to contact the office tomorrow, but I’m assuming that it isn’t a good sign that this is happening.
