<p>She might be doing worse than she thought. If the course is graded on a curve and lower scoring students drop the course, her grade will be even lower.</p>

<p>A 75 in college is not the same as a 75 in high school. Bright high schoolers are used to getting 95+ on everything, so when you get something like a 70, 80, or even 85 it’s like a big jolt because you think you did so bad, when actually you didn’t do as poorly as you think. It takes some adjusting to get out of the high school mentality of number grades. While usually people aren’t happy with a 75, there’s a very high chance it won’t be like a D like in HS but a C or maybe even a B-. </p>
<p>Having 4 midterms in an Intro to Psych class is good news. That’s plenty of opportunities to do even better on the others. And I’m sure there’s some papers or something too that factor into grading. So a 75 on the first midterm is definitely overcome-able. I’m in Intro to Psych and I have only 1 midterm before the final, so it puts a lot of pressure on the one midterm.</p>
