I thought that a “worried dad with ED” was – well, not Early Decision.

In any event, how much more perfect could these stats be??

Unfortunate thread title. Perhaps you can beg the mods to change it. Or you can change it yourself if you come back within 20 minutes of your original post. (use the advanced edit options)

There’s already a good discussion of that (Early Decision, not the other ED) here:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/rice-university/779482-early-decision.html

Unless you have specific questions, you may find that useful.

You don’t think this thread title and post was a plant by any chance to, pardon the expression, get a rise out of someone?

I wondered that (though not in those specific terms). Especially considering the stats posted

Thanks for all your replies. There is every chance for us to be worried as we moved from the other part of the world for good education. My child likes Rice very much. For all reasons this is a genuine post

I think the OP probably doesn’t get the reference, as English may be a second language. Maybe the mods could change the wording somehow?

Thread title has been revised to reflect the meaning intended.

OP, what are you worried about . . . that child will not be accepted?

Just from your description it looks like your child has an excellent chance at acceptance.

But just in case he does not, it would be prudent to begin looking at other schools.

When you do that you will discover that there are many other fine colleges and universities that fit well with your child’s work and affinities . . .which should help reduce your worry.

What fields is he interested in studying?
