Daily chores you NEED to do.

Ditto- I throw back covers to leave bed open all day- very important to cut down on dust mites!

Other than washing myself, grooming, dressing, and brushing my teeth… I cannot come up with one single thing I do consistently every day. Does making breakfast count? Because I do it pretty much every day - even when we are in HI!

I want to live next door to @marvin100.

I make the bed. I pull the covers down so it airs while I shower, but make it before leaving the bedroom. I like to get into a freshly made bed at night – it feels good. I can make one side, walk around a make the other. I bet it takes 60 seconds.

I also am usually diligent about doing the dishes/loading dishwasher right after meals.

That’s it for every day, I think.

this thread inspired me to wash the dishes instead of leaving them in the sink until tomorrow.

Still not making my bed. :stuck_out_tongue: Because…mites…yeah that’s it…not my laziness.

@marvin100 I had to google “ball gag” – boy did I get an education!

Nobody forced you to google it, @HarvestMoon1

OMG now I just googled “merkin.” You are right – I will stop now.

CC is all about getting an education!

THIS is why you make your bed every morning:

Gonna be honest – as a somewhat rebellious type, that makes me want to not make my bed. It is hogwash to me.

I’m with @inparent. That video just makes me want to go rumple up all the beds in my house and dance on top of the bed with abandon.

My next house will have 2 dishwashers. Unloading dishes into cupboards only to dirty them up and load them back into the dishwasher is stupid. Anyone familiar with LEAN principles will agree - it is a waste!

I check the mail daily, does that count?

I find cooking fun and cleaning up after a bother, a let down. My grandmother nagged about “clean as you go.” Nifty trick. Most days, most. is tidy, stuff put away, counters wiped, and maybe only a pan soaking, by the time we sit down. Not a delay, just ‘as you go.’ Just leaves the dishes and easy stuff.

You can notice I didn’t mention the 2nd floor.

My college roommate made her bed every day; in fact, every morning as she got out of it. I never picked up the habit from her.

My only daily necessity is the kitchen – dishwasher loaded, anything needing soaking in the sink, counters wiped down. This was a habit developed when D was a toddler and I felt like this was the one area of my house I could control.

Scoop cat box. Open and dispose of mail. Hang up work clothes when I get home. Put away leftover food after dinner (hubby cooks, hates to have to deal with the leftovers).

Hubby does dishes most days.

I sweep the house, change the sheets and do laundry on weekends. Take out trash on Monday night.

Yeah, I’m very good about clothes and for some unknown reason, the kids never dumped things downstairs. We all hang our coats/etc when coming in. But Sweetbeet’s mention of clothes reminds me of a time, early in our marriage, when I joked to DH, “If you can’t find it, look on the floor.” Dang.

BB, I like the way you think! I just told that to Mr. R and he asked me why I cared since he does all the dishes anyway. (That sounds WAY more harsh than he said it… it was not mean or anything. It’s just a joke because he has taken on 100% of the housework since I got sick… though he did about 85% of it even before lol)

Walk the dog (very early) feed her and check her water.
Make the bed, but not right away when I get up as H is still in it.
Tidy up the kitchen and do all dishes.
Go through the mail.

Nobody mentioned checking e-mail. I admit, I skip most often, but I do reply to,personal ones.
