Dancing With the Stars....here we go again

Was anyone else underwhelmed by Paula Abdul’s dance? Ar least she seemed to enjoy it.

I’m sorry to see Apolo go. I think he is pretty good. I liked his dance that they did an encore of again tonight.

I did a little web surfing on Kelly (no, not the Playboy “spreads” which she has done on multiple occasions, but more like Wikipedia) and read where she was a 4-sport competitor in HS. There’s the athlete connection. She might just be a better all-around athlete than Shawn.

Okay I missed tonight’s show. Who did they kick out? Apollo/Melissa and… and … and … ?

Apolo and Emmit.

All girl final (as far as the “stars” anyway)

I thought Paula Abdul’s performance was quite inventive. My only experience with her was with Idol and X Factor, so seeing her as a real performer was enlightening.

I’m surprised that there are no guys in the finals. I thought for sure that either one or the other guy would make it through. Looks like YDS called it!

Derek definitely has the ability to choreograph a great finale! Val is a question mark. Tony has always played it too safe with his partners and it has hurt their chances to advance. But that was before he partnered with Melissa the first time.

He finally had a partner in whom he had real confidence. And this season, he has really pulled out all the stops. I think Tony can really bring the goods to the finale.

It’ll be interesting to see next week’s final. I think that it is up for grabs between Shawn and Melissa…with Kelly being a dark horse.

My heart wants Melissa to win but my head tells me it’ll be Shawn since this season, more than ever, it’s all about which (all-) star has the best partner.

Does the finale use the same combination of fan votes and judges scores??? It might seem that Shawn has the advantage with Derek, her tricks, etc. but America love to love an underdog so anything can happen!

I’m glad those three are in the finals. I used to watch GH for years, and Kelly to me just seems to be a nice woman. I don’t think there is anything between her and Val - they flash to her boyfriend every time she’s done dancing - he’s always sitting next to her costar on her show.

I felt for her when she talked about how she felt about her last experience with the show being called out for her win. I watched the show even back then and she won fair and square. It was never about the “best”.

I think Shawn will win, but I believe Melissa deserves it the most. However, it always comes down to the freestyle. The best freestyle wins.

I’d like to see Derek get a weaker contestant and see what he can do with what many of the other pros get. Test his chops a bit.

I really don’t care for Carrie Ann at all.

Derek has had some weaker partners (Lil Kim comes to mind), but never anyone who would be leaving after Day 1. He’s just too entertaining! Although his sister (who I think is even more entertaining than he is) once got Adam Carolla…

I like Carrie Ann, but she was a real curmudgeon last week (she out-Lenned Len!).

Well, that turned out the way it should! ;)

Any hints on the upcoming Lotto numbers, YDS?

Don’t I wish. I was stuck in holiday traffic hell and missed the show. Thankfully, my mom was watching and would call with updates.

Who do y’all think will win, going into the finale? I’m feeling Melissa, for some reason, though I know Derek and Shawn will do a killer freestyle.

^^^ It depends on the freestyle.

However, for me, if freestyles turn out good for all, then I’d like to see Melissa and Tony win. Shawn has been there/done that and Derek has been there/done that, been there/done that and been there/done that. Shawn’s dance will look technically perfect and rely heavily on gymnastics. Though more than appropriate in the freestyle, I did get tired of seeing flips, etc., in dances that didn’t call for them. I think I’ll feel “been there, done that.”

Tony seems to be one of the nicest pros. He has someone he can work with this time around and a chance at the mirror ball. It would be nice to see him get it. As for Melissa, she missed out her first time around: winning - nice.

(I’m also getting the feeling that Shawn and Derek expect to win the mirror ball.)

I will be SO happy if Shawn and Derek do NOT win.

I couldn’t believe that they were moaning about the Indian dance. Oh, what a terrible burden: an athletic dance where you can throw yourself around and do tricks and no one knows what it is supposed to look like and there are no established standards. Oh, how terrible for the best choreographer and the gymnast!

Meanwhile, the judges are giving Kelly and Val a hard time about not have precise placement in a “flamenco”!

Given that Shawn can do unlimited gymnastics tricks in a freestyle and Derek is her choreographer, it is hard to see how they would not win. Even if she does another floor exercise instead of a dance, her fans will vote her in.

Call me grumpy. :)

^If it is any “consolation” to you, I’d call you funny as hell. Happy Thanksgiving!

I think the three remaining couples are all quite good and could win. Shawn has wowed me more than the other two, but they have still done well. I think Kelly is the least likely to win, however.

I could go with either Melissa or Shawn…love them both!

I vote…often, one couple will hit the ball out of the park on the freestyle and that cinchs it for me. This time, the freestyle can incorporate other dancers. What? Why?

The dancing this season has been great, but some of the judges’ scores have been a little suspect. Looking forward to this week’s show! I’d like to see Melissa win, but I think Shawn will take it.

Bumping for commentary …

I have to say, I smiled the whole way through Kelly’s freestyle. I love the song and she just played the part so well. I didn’t connect the same way with Melissa’s dance, but it was wonderful, too.
