I was thrilled with the winner! =D>
Me, too, missypie!
I was rooting for Ginger but knew that she didn’t have much of a chance to beat Nyle.
I liked Paige. I’m thrilled with Nyle though. Anyone who quit dancing in 8th grade doesn’t have that much of an advantage…I think it was in her blood to begin with. She had some perfect pirouettes in one of the dances and I figured she had experience.
I hope both of them have big boosts to their careers!
btw… did you guys see Nyle’s twin brother? Complete opposites…Red Haired/Brown Haired
I am so glad I’m not the only one watching this show. Each season keeps getting better and better.
I am glad Nyle and Peta won but honestly they all had great performances.
I read today that Peta and Max are expecting their first child.
Did we actually skip the Bindi season and the Nyle season? If I’m topping the wrong thread, please do me a favor and top the right one.
No. There was another thread on the subjcct, which I just merged into this one. Thanks for bringing this thread @missypie , because for the life of me, I could not find it when I wanted to post the link on the Rio thread.
One of my favorite shows. I thought Peta and her partner ( the model who is not able to hear) had awesome chemistry and were absolutely amazing. I believe Peta is engaged to Max.
When are the producers going to finally glue Bruno’s ass to his chair?
Has Julianne now become the “tough judge” this season?
Did Rick Perry actually think this would salvage his political career?
I wasn’t going to watch this season because of Ryan Lochte and Rick Perry, but then Laurie Hernandez trumped all that. And I like Jana Kramer, who – wow! – didn’t disappoint. I will say that I have a good friend who worked for Rick Perry and thinks he’s a great guy. UGH. I can’t get past his politics, but I thought he came across as likable on the show and I can see why so many who know him support him. For me, it’s still too soon for Ryan Lochte.
Did the producers choose the song Call Me Irresponsible for Ryan Lochte as their way of punishing him for selecting him in the first place? Some really talented dancers this season. Besides Laurie and Jana (wow is right, Youdon’tsay!), there’s the Indy 500 guy Jim Hinchcliffe(?), Marilu Henner, Vanilla Ice, and several others. Also nice to see Derek back this season.
Four judges are too many. They need to bring back the half-point paddles from several seasons ago.
James is a friend of one of my Ds. They went to school together many years ago. I haven’t watched the show but am still wondering why on earth he would want to do this.
Well, he’s a good dancer! I had never heard of him but ended up impressed.
alwaysamom, James is a really good dancer and he has a great partner. Finalist potential.
@Youdon’tsay , had he not been a friend of my D, I wouldn’t know who he was either as I am not a car racing fan. He is very successful at what he does and apparently is famous in the Indy Car circuit.
I guess I should watch next week and see him dance.
I had vowed not to watch this season because of Lochte and Perry, but maybe I will dip a toe in the waters.
Well, DWTS is milking the Lochte incident for all it’s worth.
I don’t watch the show either, but I found out tonight that a friend of mine’s son, who plays in a band, has had his original music played both last week and this week, so they’re very excited for their son and the exposure his music is getting!
Does ABC now stand for “All 'Bout Controversy”? Why give the protesters air time when they don’t during most of their other televised events, such as football. Hoping Ryan Lochte goes home. At least Rick Perry has a good personality that offsets his lack of dancing ability.
teriwtt, Are you able to say what songs were your friend’s son?
She mentions a song called Feel Good… I’ve not heard of it. When they get notice that it will be used for a certain episode, they are not told in what capacity… 10 seconds, the whole song, when, etc.
We were involved in the same non-profit organization many years ago and lost touch over the years. She friended me on FB just under a year ago so I’ve been trying to ‘catch up’ on what’s going on in her life through FB as we have not ‘caught up’ in live person yet! But I do gather that this is a huge break for his music career.
It seems like Ryan Lochte has learned his lesson- I am glad he wasn’t eliminated first. He either needs to improve a lot or he’ll go soon. Perry should have been in jeopardy- his supporters must have come through. The young man who was eliminated was not very good and lacked a fan base- logical first to go.
This season’s Tuesday show was better than when they did them in the past. A nice run through of the dances plus (too much?) background. I see how the show has evolved and they now have a fan base so they can do different things than when all cast were unknowns. I agree with Len on wanting more named dance content and less flash. Part of the fun watching is the human interest element and seeing how the dancers evolve. I have always wanted more judge and less popular voting weighting- but that’s what keeps the viewers.
