Danforth Dorm

My S will be in Danforth. What are the rooms like? Do they have bookshelves? Is there room for extra shelving? How high can the beds be lofted?

Here’s the floor plan (links to all dorm plans):

There used to be dimensions on the wustl website - can’t find them now.

My D was a freshman in Danforth last year - great dorm! You do get a piece of furniture that is sort of a bookshelf, but more like wood cubbies - not very large. You can see it in the corner on one of the Facebook photos on the link above. Instead of one window as shown in the room in the Facebook photos, my D’s room had two windows - another shelving unit would fit nicely between the two windows. The beds can be self-lofted fairly high, high enough that your dresser and a rather large refrigerator can fit underneath, but probably not high enough that a chair (unless it was one of those no leg type chairs) would fit. The room dimension page kpalmal mentions seems to be gone, but I looked up my paper copy. Doubles in Danforth are 10.5’ by 17’. Not huge, but decent sized dorm rooms.
