<p>First gen probably won’t matter much for admissions, I think it is more for statistical purposes and recruiting (but I am occasionally wrong). The best you can do is send an email to admissions. Make it to-the-point. Include your name, USC ID # and then say “I am a first-generation college applicant, but I did not indicate that on my application. Please correct my error. Thank you.”</p>

<p>No need to explain why it was marked differently.</p>
