Essays (rating 1-10, details): 9/10, wrote my main one on being an EMT and dealing with mass casualties, saving people with CPR, and car accidents… tried to not make it depressing. The first supplemental was about my ideal day at Dartmouth, lots of very specific Dartmouth detail. 2nd supplemental (I chose the mo’olelo one) was about living on a farm and growing my own food and raising animals and how it really connected me to the planet. VERY earthy.
Recommendations (rating 1-10, details): Probably all close to 10. My counselor liked me and I hope my teachers did too.

Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): Legacy
Strengths: Weird EC’s, successful Emergency responder
Weaknesses: GPA, I had a really bad sophomore year with a C and a few B’s.
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I think my weirdness made me stand out, also a legacy.
Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: just D.
General Comments: Guys, don’t freak out about grades/ tests scores. I had a C and many many B’s in my high school career, I did make up for it with some really strong ECs but don’t lose hope if you don’t have “Ivy level” grades.
