BCgoUSC, it seems as if you and and commando are the only idots in this thread. You guys arent “brave” but rather not aware of what is going around in the world today.

Can you see that there are now greater risks of terrorist attacks now than before 9/11? Do you think that after the war is a safer place?

Of course much improvement was made. But still Bush isnt capable to catch the person behind 9/11 - BIN LADEN. So I believe nothing much has been accomplished in the Iraq war other than the elections in Iraq.

And uc_benz, i commend what you have said. At least some people have some common sense here !!!

You guys support a president who wants a democracy in Iraq while his own administration is corrupt. He’s doing it for the profits of the war- oil.

And you call us hypocrites? I am laughing my a** off!!!

I quasi-support what we have done in Iraq (the actual invasion of the country, but not the way it was handled afterwards), but does that mean I have to join the military? No.

If you want to talk about hypocrites I would love to talk about stuff you have supported, but chose not to partake in. Maybe you support alternative energy? Are you driving, at the very least, a hybrid car or even to “prove” you believe in it, a car that doesn’t even run on gasoline? I am assuming not.

I have other things in life waiting for me besides the military. It’s my life, I can do what I want to do. Just as anyone else can do the same.

Of course I am a suppoeter of the evironment. btw, I am a CAMPAIGN AcTIVIST for Environmental Defense, a national organisation dedicated towards a cleaner environment.

Hehe… i guess your assumption is wrong.

btw, I would LOVE to ride a hybrid, only if I had the money to afford one.lol.

And yes, you can do whatever you want with your life and I do not intent to influence your future.lol

I did not vote for him this past election. Your attacks are so ad hominem.
uc_benz, if you are not in the military does not mean you are an expatriot, it’s bs so don’t get worked up about it.

I understand that not all people want to be soldiers and not all people should be, but when people are Anti-Military as many on this thread are, that is where I find a problem.

We are not in more danger per se of a terrorist attack, we are just more AWARE of it.

Let me get one thing clear- I am not trying to be anti-military. Volunteering and putting your life on the line for a “good cause” is definitely a VERY respectable deed.

I really hate the forces that are controlling the military - particularly Bush.

Working for the military is one thing, dying because of poor intelligence, poor planning, and lack of good weapons is another story.

Dont you feel bad by the fact that many of the soldiers are to serve for extended times while they are eager to return to their friends and family?

Yeah I do.
When someone signs their name on that dotted line, they are knowingly putting their lives on the line for the US, extended times or not. WWII soldiers wanted desperately to be back home, but did that cause us to withdraw from the war or say that Roosevelt was a bad President? Of course not. War is war. People die in wars. Does that mean their lives are not worthy? Of course it doesn’t, but the success/failure of a war is not measured in mere casualties. The true success is measured everytime an Iraqi citizen casts a vote for a candidate and actually feel efficacy for the first time in their lives.

And how can you say that Bush is more corrupt than any other President? Is it because American businesses are profiting from the war, because that would be an extremely fallacious argument because industry and employment flourished during WWII, but that does not mean we declared war to jump start the economy. If you want to talk about going to war or not going to war for oil, look at your European comrades who have billions in oil contracts with a UN Sanctioned despot.
You can whine about the corrupt Bush administration, while brushing aside the absolute moral corruption in the Clinton administration (murder, drugs, and sex), but just know that you are being extremely ignorant in this matter.

I guess if Bush followed his advisers then not as many Americans would have died in the war.

But anyway, since you brought up WW2, I got omething to say about it.

American has been to many severe wars including Vietnam, WW1 and WW2,Cold War and so on. Even in these crucial times at home, the employment rate was much lower than the present. Millions of Americans are in search of jobs including in Ohio (I was shocked it was a red state).

Do you know why this is? Because Bush cares less about the employment of others and more on his political security which he accomplished through the Iraq war.

If you know your history, then you would probably know that MOST presidents having two terms in office were involved in wars.

You have made very significant points, and I agree that the Clinton administration was also corrupt. But Clinton accomplished alot and contributed greatly to America while Bush hasn’t.

btw, I am not here to whine, I am here to find anyone who can clearly justify why they support Bush. None has done so,but rather divert to other topics , for example WW2 as you did and our “European comrades.”

From the presidential debates with Kerry, you can clearly see what the presidents plans for America- nothing (in healthcare, economy, alliances,Korea etc.)

You make unsubstantiated statements like these in all your arguments. Do you have any proof behind your words or do you just enjoy throwing out wreckless statements?

And for you to label the Cold War as a “severe” war that the United States has “been to” shows you have no grasp of history whatsoever. THE COLD WAR WAS NOT A WAR.

Well, you didnt provide any significant statements to support Bush. Do i need to repeat stuff after the Kerry-Bush debates?

And werent you the one who accused me of being a hypocrite. Of not caring for alternative resources. I am the campaign activist for such issues at Environmental Defense, and i work 18 hours/week over it. This shows that you do know much of what you’re talking about.

Plus, elcommando, I do not think it is wise for you to join the military or serve in anyway, because you are discriminant against other countries, religions, and cultures. I can tell when you said:

“They practice dog fighting for God sakes i just read an article in the paper about it.”

Do you actually believe this bs?

" Bush may win the Nobel Prize!! " - another bs

The BOTTOM LINE is that Bush as the American president, hasnt accomplished anything at at, he’s actually causing harm. Now he’s out to ruin the social security system. And you people support him.

They do practice things like dog fighting. This once again shows your inferior intellect. You make unbelievably unsubstantiated comments about GWB and then accuse everyone else of being discriminatory. Read a history book for gosh sake.

I did not accuse you of being a hypocrite. If you read the posts, you would see that I was responding to usna_reject.

Face the facts: It doesn’t matter whether you agree with Bush or not. 62,040,606 people DID agree with Bush and that’s all that matters. If you have better ideas, which you “obviously” have, then you can get elected President and enact them yourself.

uc_benz, i do not need need to make plans of my own. I am more worried of getting into college.

I believe that if America adopted Kerry’s plans, they would be much better of. I respect the opinions of everyone here, but you should be aware of the significant problems Bush has created.

Well too bad, America isn’t going to adopt Kerry’s plans. He could try to push his plans through Congress, but oh wait, he’s hardly ever there! And sure there have been some mistakes by the Bush administration (as there is with every administration); however, the positives outweigh the bad. I suppose you’re going to blame him for gas like all Democrats do.
