Hi jym - As a nervous father (and Tulane grad 1977) I would love it if my D got a DHS. I know they are coming out soon, but humor me and tell me what you think her chances are based on your extensive experience with this.

National Merit Finalist

Presidential Scholar Candidate

SAT - 800 V, 730 M, 800 W

GPA 4.35 out of a possible 4.5 or so

AP Classes in US History (5 on exam), English (5 on exam), Micro and Macro Econ (current), Chemistry (current). Was eligible for AP Calc but only one section offered and was a conflict. Numerous Honors classes including 5 years of French. I forget her scores on the SAT II for History and English but I think they were 740 and 780 respectively.

Already accepted in Honors program at Tulane with $24K.

Killer project for the DHS, at least I think so. Although from what I have read, I am not convinced the project matters that much. But I could be very wrong on that.

Fair amount of community service/school support type of activities, no sports. Has done piano since 2nd grade.

Appreciate your input. You are very kind to respond to all these anxious students, now you get a similar Dad.
