I agree with @DebmomNY , @CajunRouge . It is best to be as original and fresh as possible on your project, and reading/hearing about others might just make it harder for you. But some people get more confidence if they have some kind of basis to jump off from. The other DHS thread had some people describing their projects, I think starting with post #96. Same for if you want to search this forum, there have been posts in past where people talk about projects, but you have to slog through a lot of posts to find them.
I think your number of AP’s is fine. You seem to be in nice shape to apply, although no question a 33+ on the ACT will help. But there were some winners this year with 32 for either the DHS or the Paul Tulane. You will want to apply for both of course, but the DHS will also get you in the running for the Stamps.
