Dear Wash U...STOP LYING about your admissions statistics!

I think he has a case of Ivy-syndrome.
I don’t know if you are aware but WUSTL sends out a TON of flyers/brochures to students ALL over the country. They spend more money advertising than the other schools you named, thus enticing MORE students to apply since they’re all receiving letters like “come to WUSTL! great financial aid! etc, etc.”

I don’t understand how you can bash WUSTL when they’re ranked top 5 for quality of student life and their medical school is second/third in the nation.

And like the other posts, unless you have proof, no one is going to take you seriously. Just because you “think” 22,000 is a lot of apps, doesn’t make it true. Many people are intimidated by those “name” schools you’ve mentioned and therefore don’t apply. Average people, however, who receive mail from WUSTL and don’t know much about it, think they have a decent shot and therefore apply. 22,000 compared to the entire population of high school seniors applying for college is still only a small fraction.
