Oh, no.
I saw Debbie Reynolds perform in “Annie Get Your Gun” at the Texas State Fair in 1977, when I was a high school sophomore. She would have been 45 or so. I thought she was amazing but very old!

Holy crap. How sad. How tough for Todd and Billie to lose mom/sis, mom/grandmom within a day of each other.
This is all just so heartbreaking.
Debbie Reynolds was one of my kids’ favorites for Charlotte’s Web. Probably TMI but one of my children (won’t say which one) is named after a character, albeit inadvertantly.
Poor Todd and poor Billie. I hope that they are close and that Billie’s dad and his husband are there for her.
For those confused, it looks like this thread was split from the Carrie Fisher thread. (I wish there was a note in the OP when posts were moved/split like there used to be.)
The last member of the Debbie-Eddie-Liz love triangle … They were the Jennifer-Brad-Angelina of their era.
I can’t believe it.
How awful. I didn’t realize Debbie had any health problems until I read that she had a stroke last year. My heart breaks for Billie and Todd.
Except Angelina wasn’t Jen’s very best friend… and Jen and Brad didn’t have children together.
It’s just all so sad.
Wow, just…wow. Debbie and Carrie had a very close bond, and yet at times, a very volatile relationship. I am stunned, yet at the same time, not surprised. What a heartbreaking development.
So incredibly sad.
I can’t believe it.
So much sadness to end this incredibly crpy year.
A colleague of my H, his wife, their two teenage sons and two dogs all died in a Christmas Eve fire at their cottage. When I heard about Debbie Reynolds, I just cried for her daughter. That is so much for a 24 year old to handle. Talk about Christmas never being the same again!
How incredibly sad @alwaysamom . Stories Ike that really give me pause.
Debbie Reynolds was such a gift to us. I always used this clip as a test - if it could make me smile, I wasn’t really depressed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fzPf8GL0mw It even made me smile today. Wishing her family comfort.
I think she was only about 19 when she made that movie.
Thanks for the wonderful clip.
The most amazing thing…she was not really a dancer when cast with two of THE best dancers to ever appear in movies. If you didn’t know that she hadn’t had dance lessons before…you would never know.
What a talent!
Such incredibly sad news. My heart goes out to the son/brother and the daughter/granddaughter.
