Dec 1st CR Version II (Brain functions, photography, father artist...) Discussion

28 was for sure no error. I have gotten an 800 on nearly every practice SAT for grammar in the past 3-4 months and I say this with certainty. A couple of my friends who are the same way have also confirmed this. The reason I can’t recall it is because it was nothing special, a straightforward sentence.

What was the question in #28?

24 was the draw on question which was no error.

19 was the one about the banjo which was no error

29 was prohibit from wearing, not prohibit to so the answer was B or C i think forgot which letter but the underlined portion was “prohibit to”

28 I also got no error, pretty sure.

Darn pretty upset I can’t remember #28 though, but because of the consensus with many others I think I am correct.

kimchifreak, just because we can’t remember one question doesn’t mean were “fking ■■■■■■■■” and wrong, it just means we can’t remember

I agree with you SATACT95 for all of them except #28, which I’m not sure about simply because I don’t remember the question :O

I am cocky? Look at yourself please, I am only stating the conclusion that a consensus has reached not JUST my own ability. If you want to argue against that odds with your so-called “amazing” error identification ability then you’re the cocky one.

it’s not cocky if it’s true
and you have no way to back it up besides saying we’re stupid
tell us the question, tell us the error, then i’ll believe you
(using your own logic…)

@kimchifreak
I did NOT get no error for #28, so technically I should be on your side, but the fact that I got the same answer as YOU is not exactly comforting. Who was it who first said they got 800 for writing on the last two tests?

Are you saying that your claim is right until we show you proof otherwise? Because you haven’t shown us any proof either.

im sorry i dont know who said that because i said i got an 800 on almost every writing section because of practice.

and if you’re so confident that there was indeed an error I am sure you should be able to remember what the error was. I can remember what the error to #29 and #27 was yet you cant remember the error to #28. remembering an entire sentence is much harder than remember one phrase that is grammatically incorrect.

@SATACT95

for the one with the “wear” question, i think the sentence said that the men and women were prohibited to wear clothing that …

so prohibited from wouldnt fix it…unless im misremembering the question

@teeheelol : You can’t prohibit someone TO do something that logically does not make sense. You can allow someone to do something, but not prohibit.

You can, though, prohibit someone FROM doing something.

Im not sure if I am being completely clear but you can google prohibit to/prohibit from I’m sure you can find something on that.

@teeheelol

I put “prohibited to” as the error, but I think you’re right. I’m pretty sure only the “prohibited to” was underlined, so that wouldn’t fix it. (Aw, -1.)

@SATACT95

While prohibit from is correct, the thing is, if you replaced the sentence with prohibit from, then it’ll just say: “…both men and women were prohibt from wear clothing…” because the only underlined part was the “prohibit to” (unless I’m remembering things incorrectly).

Does anyone remember the actual sentence for the Elizabethen clothing question? And what was the real error (if any)?

What was the sentence in 28?

teeheelol “prohibited to” and the next thing was also underlined
Should be “prohibited from [gerund]”

@FrozenSoda : Actually the phrase “prohibitted to” wasn’t underlined, the phrase “to wear” was underlined. So instead of “to wear” it should be “from wearing” I think.

@SATACT95 Oh really? YESYESYESTHANKYOUUUU.

what was #28?

28 was no error…im sure of it, i just can’t remember the damn sentence!!!

For the passage about photography, what did people get for the purpose of the passage? Was it about photo technique or discussing a genre?
