Dec 1st CR Version II (Brain functions, photography, father artist...) Discussion

@neatoburrito
The experimental math section had the confusing question about direct and inverse variation with x, y, and z. I’m wondering if you remember having a scatterplot graph question in that section where it gave points A and B as part of the not shown trendline. Was it 9.5 or 9.0?

I’m trying to remember which sections I had…

1 - essay
2 - RC
3 - math (? … I’m not sure)
4 - math (I had normal and then grid in consecutively)
5 - RC (?)
6 - writing (35 Q)
7 - RC (I think…)
8 - math (20 min)
9 - RC (20 min)
10 - writing (10 min)

I know I had math twice in a row, but I can’t remember the order of 3-5.

@neatoburrito definitely had no question about inverse variation of x, y, and z. So I probably had RC experimental. Also had no question about a scatterplot graph with no trend line.

Haha what I don’t remember any question having “draw on” in it… but that means I didn’t circle it. And “draw on” is a correct idiom.

@Saelanares
Since you didn’t have math experimental, did you have a question in the math section where it gave a scatterplot graph. Two points were labeled, A which was lower and B which was higher. It said points A and B were part of the trendline for the scatterplot but the trendline was not shown. Was the answer to that question 9.0 or 9.5?

What was question #19 on writing?

I’m asking for a student so I didn’t actually take the test. She didn’t mention either the inverse variation question or the scatter plot question, just that one section was just very different, with many logic questions. There was one that she said was just stupid, something like, if 1247 is multiplied by ten, which number will be in the tens place? With her luck, she will have gotten all the experimental questions right!

Thanks for the replies.

okay So on the CR I got, nature, soduku, FDR new deal, and memories with bats,plums. Which one was exp? I got another CR right after the nature (section 2) on section 3

@kingboy12 I edited my previous post w/ the answer to that right before you posted :P

@aguywholovesrice I did get nature, sudoku, and bats. I had RC experimental if I recall correctly.

Does anyone remember what the givens were for the semicircle in the rectangle question for math? Also, did anyone have a math question that had to do with knots?

Thanks so much! Wow everything in this SAT is going my way, thank you Experimental section! So far: -2 Math (“t +r = 11”, managers 64%) -2 Writing (“what you can do… what your employer can do”, “draws on”) -2 Reading (raise → provoke, “Salutary”)

@Kingshrey yes I got 19n-13 for the knots

I do not remember the knots question… what was it asking?

That was the first choice right?

I’m pretty sure that whole section was experimental because I had 4 sections and people didnt have that section

the semicircle has an area of 8pi, what is the area of the rectangle
so 8pi = pi r^2 / 2
r^2 = 16
r=4

the rectangle is (2r)(r) = 2r^2 = 32.

Crap…I think I forgot the fact that you had to divide the area by half, was 16 a choice? Cause I might have chosen that

For the Math (Grid-in), what was the answer for the question about the small jar and a large jar??
I dont remember the question that well but it had 1/3, 1/4 in the question.

@speedlimit I got 4/6 or 2/3

The answer was two third. Suppose they both have 10 mL ( or whatever unit you use) of batter in each and 1/3 of the smaller pan was filled which means it has a volume of 30 and the large would have 40 because it is 1/4 so when you move the 10 from the larger into the smaller you have 20/30 which is 2/3

@kingboy12 do you remember if the math experimental section was 3 or 7?
