Hey, just wondering if anyone received their scores today…

^I didn’t receive mine.

Source?

“Please note that Cornell requires students to submit all scores from tests taken and does not participate in the College Board’s Score Choice.”

http://www.admissions.cornell.edu/forms/FreshmanApplicationLong.pdf

The statement is clarified here to only refer to the SAT:
This is cited for 2011 freshman, so would be the most accurate as the official application instructions.

There’s no reason not send all though. Cornell superscores subscores.

Still no scored. -.- I’m so tired of being angry that I’m not anymore. I’m not even nervous over my scores anymore.

^ sorry, typing this from my phone. Corrects me for no reason.

Many top schools opt-out of score choice for the SAT. However, for the ACT I don’t know of any school expect for top tier Ivy’s that require you to send ALL your ACT results.

For students who have not yet received their ACT results I’ve contacted the schools I’m applying to in regards to the delay…

Brown, NYU, and UC’s will still accept the scores EVEN if they come in late January/February. USC gave a kind of odd response, maybe someone can decipher it for me. They said, “Yes, as long as you request to have the test scores submitted to us by the application deadline.” But also, if you look at the USC website, they say that they will still accept tests taken after 2011. Keep in mind that schools have to have the mid-year report to make a final decision. Mid-year reports are mailed by February 12th, which would be after the latest possible date that the ACT would come out. Therefore, it’s not a big problem if the ACT results DO take until February.

^I think it means that you have to order the score report by the application deadline, and as long as you do that you’ll be okay. I believe colleges get a list of applicants that are sending them score reports…because I got many letters from rice about the application even though I hadn’t started on it, nor were my ACT scores available (I requested a copy be sent to them though).

Also guys,

I got 3 packets from Stanford, 2 emails from University of Chicago, a packet from Carnegie Mellon, and an email from Rice within the past week. The email from U of C Sao they received my information from ACT Corp…does this mean they might have received my scores before me? Is this a good sign?

^said they received my information. -.- sorry…stupid iphone.

You got 3 packets from Stanford? Saying what?

I didn’t read ALL of them, but one was a packet (with a Stanford flag on the front)…it had just admissions statistics and why I should choose them…blah blah blah. Like every other college packet. On the back it had ACT score averages…and GPA averages…

It might also be due to the fact that I have 2 family members who recently graduated from there (cousins)? :/

I don’t like Stanford though. Seems like one of those really cocky schools where no one wants to be friends with you unless you have a 4.0 GPA from a top 25 high school and a 2400 SAT. -.-

Yes, I’m sure that all the pretentious students go to Stanford. It can’t possibly be mutual between most of the top schools in the nation to have kids like that. :P

Yeah I know. But Stanford is an ivy league. Since it has that status, it probably has a significantly higher percentage of these “pretentious” students than a top 20 non-ivy school (like Emory! :D)…I know there will be students who act arrogant at Emory, but probably not as bad as Stanford.

and btw, happy new years!!! I hope that everyone has a great one! Also, I hope that everyone with deadlines today have submitted or are submitting their applications! :)

Stanford isn’t part of the Ivy League…
Brown
Columbia
Cornell
Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Dartmouth
U Penn

Kai is correct. Stanford is not Ivy League, although it ranks in prestige with the top of them.

This was the first time I took the act, I got all my scores except my essay score, I tried putting the date I took it for the commonapp, but it doesn’t allow me to submit w/o putting a score. I’m going to wait and see if it’ll arrive tomorrow, if it doesn’t should i erase the date for the essay and just put all my other scores and hope the colleges will know that I took the act plus writing when they receive my official scores?

Omg, seriously?! Woah…well nevermind then. Lol
