December 2014 ACT Discussion Thread

Guys help what was the final verdict on the state flower question in English? I am still in the registered status :frowning:

When do you think the writing score will appear. I need my score report to be sent ASAP to UC’s!

Probably not for a while since many people haven’t gotten their scores back it sucks

@NorCalGuy11 Once you order them they send the scores right away. It’s likely the UCs have your scores already actually.

@jooWonie wat was ur friends act score

@thanksagain it says on actstudent that a score report will be sent once my writing score arrives.

@NorCalGuy11 Ah ok. Shouldn’t be a problem because the UCs know you have no control over this. Good luck!

I’m still registered. Should I check it everyday or they will only update the scores on wed and fri? I want to know my score so badd

@nangkhieu I am still registered as well. According to my conversations with the ACT a majority (~90% of test takers) did not receive their test scores today. They will continue to score exams and post scores again Thursday at Midnight. The next upload date will be next Tuesday and then Thursday. Due to the shortened time between the examination and score release (Only 10 days instead of the typical 14) they have changed the upload dates apparently and were unable to scan as many as they typically are able to.

@nangkhieu‌ i am tested and havent received my scores do you think ill receive them tomorrow or Thursday?

Sorry guys I forgot to post my scores…

I’m happy considering I’m in the 80th percentile so it’s all good… No scholarships though…D:

@INFINTIEVER‌ You did well! Sucks about the scholarship though D: . I barely squeaked into my 29 threshold with a 28.5 and honestly I think some of those curves were brutal.

@INFINTIEVER‌

Teach me how to get a 37 on english :wink: :stuck_out_tongue:

More scores will be released on Thursday (as opposed to Wednesday) due to the holiday.

I got 17 on english and reading. Bubbling error ? Im pretty sure I should have gotten atleast 25. instead of paying $45 to get it rechecked might aswell pay $5 more and prep harder? what do y’all think?

@GodsGem322‌ @cooldude1098‌ caught me! Well Godsgem fell for it…I can guess that her downfall was math lol

For those seniors applying via Common App,

How are you listing your score?? I’d rather not send my September ACT (b/c of the cost to send them and because i improved on this one–thankfully). Should I just report it as an expected sitting? I can’t report it because I don’t have the writing portion. Should I report my 33 from December and my writing score (8) from September… or will that mean the colleges will be expecting both? I’m thinking of just listing it as an ‘expected sitting’ so that I can send in my applications in before the writing scores come out… id really hate to put it off til then.

Thanks in advance

I didn’t know you could pay ACT to recheck your scores. @-) I didn’t think that was possible.

@AbeCO18 I have the same problem as you. I have to submit my common app before Christmas or at least before New Years Eve but my writing score probably won’t be in during that time. I think I’m going to send my old writing score from October and just update my colleges when my new writing score comes in.

@AbeCO18‌ @jooWonie‌ I’m listing my scores in the Additional Info box and putting the essay as N/A.
Ex:
"I took the ACT Plus Writing test on December 13, 2014. My multiple choice scores were released, but my essay score will not be available until after the deadline. I have listed my composite and multiple choice scores below, and will be sending the official ACT scores when the essay becomes available.

Composite:

English:

Math:

Reading:

Science:

Essay: N/A

Combined English/Writing: N/A"

You should not list your past essay scores. Just don’t report this test in the Self-Reporting, but put it in the additional info. Also, Self-reporting your scores on the Common App is optional anyways. Colleges really only care about the official reports that you send them. Putting it in the additional info will give them the heads up though and let them know that they should be expecting your scores

@INFINTIEVER‌

So what was your actual score? a 33?
