A 33+ is a great score, but having a 32 or lower doesn’t mean that you are academically weak or unable to get into a good college.
@elizabeth273
*A 32+ is a great score
From what I’ve heard, top colleges don’t care THAT much above 32/33 range, but the difference between a 34 and 35 or 35 and 36 can be a tie breaker for people with nearly identical profiles. Also, the fact that it’s just one test and it’s considered so heavily shows that preparing for/retaking it to improve your score can be worth it even when it makes a difference of just one point.
thought a 30 was a good score but then i log on here and see people complaining about having 32’s and 33’s
i wish you guys could listen to yourselves for a second and hear how ridiculous you sound. be proud of your accomplishments for 5 seconds and realize its worth youre going to college!!! boohoo if its not Harvard
this site is filled with overachievers, a 30 is 95th percentile so yes it’s good.
@CATDECAL thank you so much for your kind words! And congrats to your daughter!
I put a lot of effort into studying for this test and raised my score from a 27 to a 30 so I’m proud! I will ignore what prayingfor33 said because it’s simply not true, let people be proud of their scores and not bash others standards
@hi456378 congrats on ur 30! i got a 30 my first time and got a 29 this time, i think im done testing. im proud of my 30 and you should be too! 28+ is an awesome achievement
does anybody have a sense of what the curve was?
Different colleges have different ACT score expectations and unfortunately ethnicity/gender/race is also a big factor. Most Ivy Leagues expect 33/34 and above for overachieving categories. A quick look @ college decision threads will confirm this.
My son has not gotten his ACT scores. When this happened the last time there was a problem and it took awhile to sort out. ACT folks were seriously unhelpful and seemed not to give a crap. I am concerned that this is the case again. Is there anyone out there in New Jersey, nearby NYC, who has not gotten their scores back yet or are all the scores in from the tri - state area?
Wow ACT you suck college deadlines are in a week.
@elise303 Yes I’m from New Jersey and I haven’t gotten my scores back. However, my friend took it at a different testing site and did get his score back.
" IMPORTANT NOTICE: Requests for sending scores submitted after 10 a.m. (Central Time) December 23 will not be processed until December 28. If you have an upcoming deadline, you may want to contact your college or scholarship agency to make arrangements due to the additional processing time. Thank you. "
Great. What am I supposed to do? I’m a senior applying for January 1 deadline whose December score did not come out yet. I have taken ACT for two time. Should I send these two score first until 10 a.m.?
Seriously so frustrated with ACT. Last time my scores did not get out until the third batch and now today I am still registered. I doubt they will release many scores on Friday but here’s hoping mine is one of them. Luckily I am happy with my previous C30 but I am really hoping for a 32+.
wait I’m not sure what to do. I wanted to send this date but what if they do not get to schools in time? should seniors send an older test date?
Has anyone from Texas received their scores yet?
Yes, in Texas with scores
For math? I highly doubt that
From India. Haven’t received my scores. Any idea when?
friday hopefully
